Betfred Championship Preview | Round 11

Betfred Championship Preview | Round 11

Round 11 of the Betfred Championship begins with a battle near the top as Newcastle entertain Barrow on Saturday.

Thunder are sitting in fifth, whilst the Raiders currently occupy second place. Can Barrow make it six wins on the spin?

Swinton and Keighley will meet for the first time this year. Their encounters have produced close score-lines in recent seasons (30-22 and 14-18 in 2025), with the Lions coming out on top in each of the last four meetings.

Batley Bulldogs are searching for their first win since early March. The Bulldogs have lost by a single point in their last two Championship matches and will be hoping to avoid any more heartbreak when they host Goole Vikings this Sunday.

Both teams are gearing up to face a brand-new opponent, with no previous meetings between the two sides.

A tasty tie awaits at the Eco-Power Stadium as Doncaster face London Broncos.

Just like the league leaders, the Dons are also in red hot form, meaning Sunday’s clash promises to be blockbuster!

The high-flying Roughyeds could claim a sixth win on the bounce when they entertain Workington.

Oldham have won their last six meetings against the Cumbrian outfit, which includes a 56-0 success, most recently in 2024.

A special milestone could be reached for Matty Ashurst, who would make his 400th career appearance if selected to play this weekend.

Meanwhile, Rochdale take on Dewsbury. The teams last met in 2025, in Round 22 of Betfred League One, with a dramatic Dan Coates try snatching victory for the Rams (32-36).

Can Sheffield return to winning ways? The Eagles have endured a string of heavy defeats in recent weeks but will be looking to right their wrongs when they welcome Salford to the Steel City Stadium.

It’s going to be tough, however, with Salford recently having found a good run of form.

Hunslet could make it three wins in a row in Round 11, but they have a tough trip away at Whitehaven to overcome first.

Finally, Widnes return to their home patch and have an aim of climbing back up the ladder.

The Vikings may be in seventh spot, but only four points separate them from the top. What will happen when Halifax pay them a visit?
